Posh Brainwash

Vetements, a name so new to the fashion industry yet already on everyone's lips. The head designer of Vetements, a Georgian born Demna Gvasalia, now also the creative director of Balenciaga (thanks to his controversial style), has been reshaping the fashion world and the idea of beauty since his first Vetements collection just 4 years ago. His strange ideas brought to life on the runway are enveloped by inspirations from observing people, his grandmother and memories of his childhood in Georgia which was disrupted by war during the USSR. His ridiculously huge clothes which are adored and worn by many, were inspired by his own childhood clothes back in Georgia that were always big for him, due to the fact that there was a scarcity of pretty much everything including clothes. So, when buying his clothes his parents would always buy them a few sizes bigger so he would wear them for a few years before growing out of them. I should say that this is probably the most Soviet thing to do. When I was a kid, my parents also bought me clothes a few sizes bigger, because their parents did so, and their parents' parents as well. I feel you Demna.
On July 1st, Demna Gvasalia has showcased Vetements Spring Summer 2019 Collection, influenced by his memories of being forced to escape the country as his home town was bombed during the civil war. The trauma of being a refugee running for his life has been especially difficult for Gvasalia. The collection also has references to Russia as the Russian influence on the Georgian culture was very strong under the Soviet rule. As dark and depressing the memories and ideas behind this collection might be, I absolutely love it! The Georgian flag, the Russian flag, the Turkish flag, the Ukrainian flag, the tribute to the iconic Russian singer Viktor Tsoi.
Personally for me, the highlight of the whole show was... the Saint Basil's Cathedral print top!
Unfortunately, we will have to wait for a while until we get our hands on these pieces. In the meantime, I want your attention on the highlight of the past Fall Winter 2019 collection, the Russian passport-print leather cross body bag in a bright red which will very soon be available for purchase. You can put your name on the website wishlist I put the link to in the caption, and be notified when it is available. I surely did.
This print has also appeared on boots in the Fall Winter 2019 collection. Might this be the next wardrobe essential like Vetements sock ankle boots? We hope it will because this is one of the greatest and strongest transmissions of a culture into clothes.

A clean and acne free face has always been desired by women of all ages. I would call it a beauty standard because well, how often do you see acne faces on a magazine cover? Never. Our face is like a book cover, we get judged by it all the time whether we acknowledge it or not. A clean and spot free face is rather pleasant to look at and is a sign of health. Before we get down to business, I would like to let you know that my skin is dry and I rarely experience acne. However, the tips I am about to give you are rather universal and can applied to all skin types.
Step 1: Avoid wearing make-up if you can because I have realised that during the recent years, after I stopped applying make-up on a daily or even weekly basis, my skin became so much cleaner than it used to be. I actually don't remember the last time I have experienced a break-out. However, if you do wear make-up, always remove it at the end of a day. Bioderma's Sensibio H20 micellar water is the one I always use when removing my make-up. It is very light and is especially great for sensitive skin, which makes it great for all skin types. It gives you a refreshing and clean feeling. Soak a clean cotton pad with the micellar water and apply to your face.
Bioderma Sensibio H20 (£15.80)
Step 2: Before you go to bed or once you have removed your make-up, it's time for a cleanse. It will remove any make-up still left on your skin or just make it perfectly clean of any dirt you managed to get on your face during the day. La Mer's The Cleansing Foam is the perfect cleanser I could never let go of since I have discovered it. All La Mer's products are quite expensive but this cleanser is so worth it. This foam contains white pearl powders and sea algae fibers to purify, cleanse and calm. It also gives brightness to your face and evens your skin tone. It's okay for oily and dry skin since it is quite gentle and soft, but I would say it is the combination skin that this cleanser is absolutely perfect for. On top of all of that, it is free of sulphates, parabens and phtalates. So go ahead and buy one, because IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER.
Step 3: Right after cleansing, it is essential to moisturise your face. Clarins' Hydra-Essentiel products contain kalanchoe extract from kalanchoe leaf, also known as the leaf of life, that activates and boosts your skin's hyaluronic acid production. This makes a perfect natural hydrant. Hydra-Essential has 4 different moisturisers according to your skin type, all of which are incredible, but I personally use the Hydra-Essentiel Rich Cream for very dry skin since that's the type of skin I have. It makes your face super-soft and silky without feeling heavy.
If you follow all of these three steps and combine it with a healthy nutrition, because nutrition is as much important as these 3 steps are, then I promise you will never experience a break-out ever again. Ok maybe once or twice in a year.

Summer is officially here and it is time to bare your skin! If you did not have time to prepare your skin on the body for a bikini, don't worry because you still have time... Maybe. I hope my advices will help you do that, because taking care of your skin on the body is just as important as taking care of the skin on your face. Apart from eating healthy, managing stress and exercising, it is essential to find products that actually do magic to your skin and not just promise to. I have always been a skincare junkie and I have been searching many years for the perfect cosmetics that would make my body look as smooth, silky and glowing as the models' in magazines, and this is what my years of research have brought me to.
It is especially important to exfoliate your skin during shower, as it removes the dead cells, results in a more even skin tone and helps you get rid of the ingrown hairs that we all hate. There are no words to describe how much I love all of Tata Harper products, but their scrub is something out of this world. Tata Harper's Smoothing Scrub that says "Spa Strength" actually gives you the same spa professional exfoliation at the comfort of your home as you would get in an expensive spa.

Dry brushing is another method to remove the dead skin cells and get rid of the ingrown hairs. It also promotes healthy circulation, softer and toned skin and reduces the appearance of the cellulite that well, almost all of us women have. Unless you are Emily Ratajkowski, then you probably don't. If you overdo it you risk hurting your skin so remember to be gentle when dry brushing. Believe me, you will feel like a whole new person stepping out of the shower after using this brush by Aromatherapy Associates, that I personally use every time I shower. It's probably going to be a bit painful the first few times, but the result is worth it.

Last but not least, moisturising. It has to be done every single day, and I usually do it before I go to bed or after shower and it's always either my favourite Caudalie Divine multipurpose oil (which can also be used for hair, cuticles and as a bath oil) or an organic virgin coconut oil (which you can find pretty much anywhere and any brand will do). The Caudalie Divine oil contains grape, hibiscus, sesame and argan oils that nourish your skin leaving it smooth and glowing. It is really divine, and smells great. On the other hand, the organic virgin coconut oil is the most natural moisturiser there is, and it's naturally antibacterial and antifungal. It smells yummy and enhances your skin's smoothness, elasticity and appearance. So choose yourself, but both Caudalie Divine oil and coconut oil do absolute wonders to your skin.

Sardinia is one of the most scenic places I have ever been to, and today I want to show you why. When saying Sardinia, the first thing that pops up in someone's mind is Porto Cervo. The glamorous yachts, expensive restaurants and women walking out their Birkins. Just 30 minutes away by car from Porto Cervo, there is a recently built village around a port. The place is called Porto Rotondo. It is more quite, genuine and intimate in comparison to Porto Cervo. If you are in the mood for shopping there are a few artisanal shops, some of which sell very beautiful jewellery. There are also a few restaurants with great food most of which are pricey but well, Sardinia generally is. If you ever decide to visit Porto Rotondo, it will strike you with it's romantic atmosphere and beautiful sunsets. So, don't forget your camera!

Not everyone is lucky to have naturally thick eyelashes, but you can still achieve that with a proper routine care. There are various possible reasons for having thin eyelashes. Sometimes it is the genetics, or hormones, or the amount of make-up that you wear and whether you rinse it off at the end of a day or not. There are two ways to change this, simple home remedies and an alternative method. So, let's start with natural home remedies as this method will save you a lot of trouble and money.
Castor oil and Burdock oil are both phenomenal at promoting eyelash growth and enhancing the thickness of the eyelashes. You can find these oils in any drugstore. Before going to sleep, apply either one of the oils on the eyelashes using a cotton ear bud and rinse away in the morning. You can do this as often as you like.
(Pukka Castor oil£9.99)
(Burdock oil£4.99)
An alternative method I have personally used and feel confident to recommend, is the RevitaLash serum. The serum used to contain an active ingredient called bimatropost which stimulates the hair growth, but recently Revita have replaced it with another prostaglandin found in glaucoma drugs. The results are noticeable in as soon as 2 weeks. I would suggest using the serum twice in a week before going to sleep or during the day since it dries very quickly. When you start using the serum, at first your eyelashes may experience some hair loss and the skin around your eyes may go red. That is due to the fact that as new eyelashes grow out from under the skin they obviously irritate it. The prices vary based on the bottle size.

Let's start with some introduction to my hair, it's not coloured (although it has been in the past), extra long and trimmed once in 2-3 months. I can't claim I have the healthiest looking hair in the world, I don't, and I do get hair loss from time to time. However, since I have started treating my hair like a temple, it thanked me in return. I can't promise you are going to get the super-shiny, super-long and luxurious hair that you see in shampoo advertisements, but what I can promise is that if you treat your hair like a temple it will thank you back as well. Hopefully these few steps will get you closer to having beautiful, healthy-looking hair.
The more organic and natural is the shampoo that you wash your hair with, the better. Pay attention to the ingredients at the back of your shampoo bottle. Trust me, you don't want to be washing your hair with shampoos that include sulphates, alcohol or parabens. The sulphates are synthetic and cheap detergents that are very perfect at washing away the dirt and making your hair feel soft right after the wash. The reality is in the long-term they irritate the scalp of your head and make your hair drier. Usage of a sulphate free shampoo will require you to wash your hair one or two extra times, but your hair will be definitely feel and look healthier as a result. Alcohol as well dries out your hair, while the parabens used in a shampoo to prolong its shelf life cause hormonal disbalance (which basically means LOADS of hair loss) and some claim it's linked to cancer.
About 2 years ago, I have discovered this amazing independent Canadian beauty care company called Calia Natural, and their shampoos are I quote "as pure and natural as possible". Since I started using their shampoos, my hair is literally the strongest and longest it's ever been. Calia have a wide range of shampoos that you can choose from based on your hair type, but I use the balancing one in a pretty green bottle.

It doesn't seem like we will stop seeing and wearing the 90's inspired fashion anytime soon. Chanel, Valentino, Balmain and others are embracing PVC in their latest collections all over again and it's not just outerwear. Boots, tops and bags and skirts are all being made PVC. We suspect this is thanks to Raf Simon's Calvin Klein debut collection, which we absolutely applaud! The designers have given the 90's PVC trend a modern twist and we would be lying if we would say we don't love it.

Don't be scared to try this new trend, it is actually very wearable when styled in the right way. Just the right amount of PVC in an outfit can make you look very stylish, but don't go overboard otherwise you will end up looking like a walking carrier bag. We have chosen some amazing PVC and vinyl pieces for you to consider adding to your wardrobe:

(Yeezy mules£698)
(Asos trousers£30)
