Posh Brainwash

When was the last time you went shopping to a walk-in store? You probably don't even remember. Seems to me, it's rather time saving to shop online because who has time to actually go shopping? In recent years, there have been so many online shops emerging on the internet and all of them offering a wide choice of fashion and jewellery and shoes. However, none of them have quite struck me with their character. Yes, I do believe an online shop should have a character reflected in the pieces they choose to sell, just like an interior design of a walk-in shop representing the designer's energy and the concept of his creations that are sold in that store. That was until I've stumbled upon The Dayrooms, a new concept store which brings us the edgiest designers and most unique pieces I have seen in a long time.
The pieces at The Dayrooms, which is run by it's founder Aiten Mehdieva and it's fashion curator Anna Karboinova, are "exclusive to their store and can't be found elsewhere". The six emerging edgy designers that they are introducing to the fashion crowd are...
These are my top three beautiful and unique pieces you can find at The Dayrooms online concept store...

One of the best ways to escape the city's urban fuss, is to go pampering and I think no man or woman who ever tried that can argue. Away from the crowd yet in the heart of London, the MYZ Beauty Boutique (open everyday Tuesday to Sunday on 20 Powis Terrace, Notting Hill) offers you the ultimate city retreat with one of the most impressive collections of nail polishes and shellacs and a wide range of treatments: waxing, massaging, body treatments and facials.
(A perfect place to catch up with your girlfriends!)
If there is anything I know about my nails routine, it is that I can be very picky about my nail polish colour and very rarely understood by the manicurist what colour it is that I want to do. I am also very attentive to my cuticles, which I need to be cut and cleaned to the fullest. This is something not a lot of manicurists practice in London salons or even know how to do. To my surprise, not only did the manicurist at MYZ Beauty Boutique find exactly the colour I want, but also cut and shaped my cuticles to mere perfection. After that, accurately applying two coats of the shellac, she managed to create a clean feeling to my nails. It looks as if there is nothing on my nails, and that was exactly what I wanted to achieve by the end of the treatment, which costed me £35.
Being impressed by the manicurist, I thought to myself why not try their other treatments and headed over to the reception to book a "Le Grand Classique Deep Cleansing" facial for the next day. After the facial, which lasted one hour and costed £75, I felt more GLOWING than ever. My skin also felt very clean and pure. This facial is suitable for any age and "centers on Yon-Ka's exclusive deep cleansing regimen using the 5 Quintessential oils", which is a leading French phyto-aromatic skin care brand. WORTH EVERY PENNY!

Trends from the 90s have made so many comebacks in the last couple of years that I have lost count. One of those comebacks was the choker, once worn by Queen Alexandra of United Kingdom in the 19th century to hide a small scar on her neck. Little did she know she would become the trend setter for the next centuries to come.
If you are as tired of simple black ropes and velvet chokers around people's necks, then welcome to the club because in this article I will give you directions to the most unique and stylish chokers you can shop online that can never be worn out.

This is a choker I actually own myself, and absolutely love it. A very eye-catching piece with a very romantic feeling to it.

This ivory choker I haven't yet laid my hands on. It is a beautifully embellished ribbon, and gives me major Marie Antoinette vibes.

A Western-style choker with all the more remarkably interesting name "Navajo" as in Native American tribe - Navajos. This could be styled with many different casual outfits and I can already imagine a perfectly put together Ralph Lauren outfit styled with this choker.

A stunning piece of art, which I find absolutely perfect for a truly special occasion. A diamond choker paired with a simple and unfussy dress - THE EPITOME OF ELEGANCE.

A very colourful and fun candy-like jewellery that Roxanne Assoulin herself describes as "Similar to ice-cream, but without the calories."

No one loves Vintage more than me, and that's why I couldn't miss a chance to include a beautiful vintage choker necklace in this list. This is an embellished with crystals vintage choker monogram necklace by Christian Dior featuring the CD initials. Combining old and new - the best choice I always make and suggest you to do so too.

Vetements, a name so new to the fashion industry yet already on everyone's lips. The head designer of Vetements, a Georgian born Demna Gvasalia, now also the creative director of Balenciaga (thanks to his controversial style), has been reshaping the fashion world and the idea of beauty since his first Vetements collection just 4 years ago. His strange ideas brought to life on the runway are enveloped by inspirations from observing people, his grandmother and memories of his childhood in Georgia which was disrupted by war during the USSR. His ridiculously huge clothes which are adored and worn by many, were inspired by his own childhood clothes back in Georgia that were always big for him, due to the fact that there was a scarcity of pretty much everything including clothes. So, when buying his clothes his parents would always buy them a few sizes bigger so he would wear them for a few years before growing out of them. I should say that this is probably the most Soviet thing to do. When I was a kid, my parents also bought me clothes a few sizes bigger, because their parents did so, and their parents' parents as well. I feel you Demna.
On July 1st, Demna Gvasalia has showcased Vetements Spring Summer 2019 Collection, influenced by his memories of being forced to escape the country as his home town was bombed during the civil war. The trauma of being a refugee running for his life has been especially difficult for Gvasalia. The collection also has references to Russia as the Russian influence on the Georgian culture was very strong under the Soviet rule. As dark and depressing the memories and ideas behind this collection might be, I absolutely love it! The Georgian flag, the Russian flag, the Turkish flag, the Ukrainian flag, the tribute to the iconic Russian singer Viktor Tsoi.
Personally for me, the highlight of the whole show was... the Saint Basil's Cathedral print top!
Unfortunately, we will have to wait for a while until we get our hands on these pieces. In the meantime, I want your attention on the highlight of the past Fall Winter 2019 collection, the Russian passport-print leather cross body bag in a bright red which will very soon be available for purchase. You can put your name on the website wishlist I put the link to in the caption, and be notified when it is available. I surely did.
This print has also appeared on boots in the Fall Winter 2019 collection. Might this be the next wardrobe essential like Vetements sock ankle boots? We hope it will because this is one of the greatest and strongest transmissions of a culture into clothes.

A clean and acne free face has always been desired by women of all ages. I would call it a beauty standard because well, how often do you see acne faces on a magazine cover? Never. Our face is like a book cover, we get judged by it all the time whether we acknowledge it or not. A clean and spot free face is rather pleasant to look at and is a sign of health. Before we get down to business, I would like to let you know that my skin is dry and I rarely experience acne. However, the tips I am about to give you are rather universal and can applied to all skin types.
Step 1: Avoid wearing make-up if you can because I have realised that during the recent years, after I stopped applying make-up on a daily or even weekly basis, my skin became so much cleaner than it used to be. I actually don't remember the last time I have experienced a break-out. However, if you do wear make-up, always remove it at the end of a day. Bioderma's Sensibio H20 micellar water is the one I always use when removing my make-up. It is very light and is especially great for sensitive skin, which makes it great for all skin types. It gives you a refreshing and clean feeling. Soak a clean cotton pad with the micellar water and apply to your face.
Bioderma Sensibio H20 (£15.80)
Step 2: Before you go to bed or once you have removed your make-up, it's time for a cleanse. It will remove any make-up still left on your skin or just make it perfectly clean of any dirt you managed to get on your face during the day. La Mer's The Cleansing Foam is the perfect cleanser I could never let go of since I have discovered it. All La Mer's products are quite expensive but this cleanser is so worth it. This foam contains white pearl powders and sea algae fibers to purify, cleanse and calm. It also gives brightness to your face and evens your skin tone. It's okay for oily and dry skin since it is quite gentle and soft, but I would say it is the combination skin that this cleanser is absolutely perfect for. On top of all of that, it is free of sulphates, parabens and phtalates. So go ahead and buy one, because IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER.
Step 3: Right after cleansing, it is essential to moisturise your face. Clarins' Hydra-Essentiel products contain kalanchoe extract from kalanchoe leaf, also known as the leaf of life, that activates and boosts your skin's hyaluronic acid production. This makes a perfect natural hydrant. Hydra-Essential has 4 different moisturisers according to your skin type, all of which are incredible, but I personally use the Hydra-Essentiel Rich Cream for very dry skin since that's the type of skin I have. It makes your face super-soft and silky without feeling heavy.
If you follow all of these three steps and combine it with a healthy nutrition, because nutrition is as much important as these 3 steps are, then I promise you will never experience a break-out ever again. Ok maybe once or twice in a year.

Summer is officially here and it is time to bare your skin! If you did not have time to prepare your skin on the body for a bikini, don't worry because you still have time... Maybe. I hope my advices will help you do that, because taking care of your skin on the body is just as important as taking care of the skin on your face. Apart from eating healthy, managing stress and exercising, it is essential to find products that actually do magic to your skin and not just promise to. I have always been a skincare junkie and I have been searching many years for the perfect cosmetics that would make my body look as smooth, silky and glowing as the models' in magazines, and this is what my years of research have brought me to.
It is especially important to exfoliate your skin during shower, as it removes the dead cells, results in a more even skin tone and helps you get rid of the ingrown hairs that we all hate. There are no words to describe how much I love all of Tata Harper products, but their scrub is something out of this world. Tata Harper's Smoothing Scrub that says "Spa Strength" actually gives you the same spa professional exfoliation at the comfort of your home as you would get in an expensive spa.

Dry brushing is another method to remove the dead skin cells and get rid of the ingrown hairs. It also promotes healthy circulation, softer and toned skin and reduces the appearance of the cellulite that well, almost all of us women have. Unless you are Emily Ratajkowski, then you probably don't. If you overdo it you risk hurting your skin so remember to be gentle when dry brushing. Believe me, you will feel like a whole new person stepping out of the shower after using this brush by Aromatherapy Associates, that I personally use every time I shower. It's probably going to be a bit painful the first few times, but the result is worth it.

Last but not least, moisturising. It has to be done every single day, and I usually do it before I go to bed or after shower and it's always either my favourite Caudalie Divine multipurpose oil (which can also be used for hair, cuticles and as a bath oil) or an organic virgin coconut oil (which you can find pretty much anywhere and any brand will do). The Caudalie Divine oil contains grape, hibiscus, sesame and argan oils that nourish your skin leaving it smooth and glowing. It is really divine, and smells great. On the other hand, the organic virgin coconut oil is the most natural moisturiser there is, and it's naturally antibacterial and antifungal. It smells yummy and enhances your skin's smoothness, elasticity and appearance. So choose yourself, but both Caudalie Divine oil and coconut oil do absolute wonders to your skin.

Sardinia is one of the most scenic places I have ever been to, and today I want to show you why. When saying Sardinia, the first thing that pops up in someone's mind is Porto Cervo. The glamorous yachts, expensive restaurants and women walking out their Birkins. Just 30 minutes away by car from Porto Cervo, there is a recently built village around a port. The place is called Porto Rotondo. It is more quite, genuine and intimate in comparison to Porto Cervo. If you are in the mood for shopping there are a few artisanal shops, some of which sell very beautiful jewellery. There are also a few restaurants with great food most of which are pricey but well, Sardinia generally is. If you ever decide to visit Porto Rotondo, it will strike you with it's romantic atmosphere and beautiful sunsets. So, don't forget your camera!
